Nepal’s first highway is the Tribhuvan Highway, also known as the Prithvi Highway. It is one of the major highways in Nepal and connects the capital city of Kathmandu with the western part of the country. The construction of this highway began in the 1950s and was completed in the early 1960s. The Tribhuvan Highway plays a significant role in facilitating transportation and trade between Kathmandu and the rest of Nepal, particularly the cities and towns in the western region.
